Brandon Law plated up with a White Chicken with Ginger, Spring Onion and Chinese Vegetables recipe on MasterChef SA. This is a very common dish in the East for a very good reason, it is delicious. I'd certainly recommend this to everyone. It is a very wholesome way to cook a chicken and due to the fact that it is poached you end up with very juicy meat. Brandon did use a little too much ginger in his recipe, according to Pete Goffe-Wood so as with all recipes, when it comes to adding ...

Brandon Law is found guilty by Pete Goffe-Wood of using too much raw ginger in his White Chicken recipe. The young MasterChef contender with shoulders the width of the Yangtze River has been kept pretty much in the shadows by the MasterChef producers throughout the series so far. They only let him out briefly in episode three when he declared that he wanted to win MasterChef more than Tom ...

Guy Clark finally enjoys an incident free episode of MasterChef SA with his Thai Chicken Recipe. Guy really impressed in this episode, not only did he have an incident free run and avoided revealing embarrassing fetishes like prosthetic legs but he plated up with a pretty decent recipe. He drew the inspiration for his childhood dish from both his parents. His mother who by the sound ...

Once again MasterChef SA pays homage to our rich Cape Malay culinary heritage with Ilse Fourie and her Tomato Bredie Recipe. Ilse Fourie chose Tomato Bredie as her childhood dish and while she was not exactly clear as to how her mother made it she had no problem reproducing the dish in her own style. She uses traditional 'complementary' lamb herbs such as rosemary in her recipe. If you want to give yours a more Oriental flavour you could include some cardamom, cloves and ...

Manisha Naidu, the softly spoken Johannesburg MasterChef contender, knocked the judges off their feet with her Chicken Three Ways with Curry Sauce recipe. The challenge for the MasterChef contestants was to produce a dish that emanated from their childhood memories, their "soul on a plate" Pete Goffe-Wood dramatically put it. For Manisha that meant only one thing, a chicken curry. She knew though that to simply plate up a chicken curry would not be good enough for a MasterChef, as Sanjeev ...

Samantha Nolan stakes early claim to MasterChef title with a Dutch Croquettes Recipe with Hollandaise, Tomato Sauce and Chips.   Samantha Nolan wowed not only us but the judges too with this 60 minutes masterpiece. Pete Goffe-Wood had his concerns that Samantha would not have enough time to complete her dish. He was worried that even using the pressure cooker she would not have enough time to thicken, cool and crumb. He was expecting some chewy meat. He vastly underrated Samantha's ...

Samantha Nolan cleans up with a Dutch Croquettes recipe in episode four of MasterChef South Africa. There was no doubt in Samantha Nolan's mind as to what she was going to present to the judges for the childhood memory challenge on MasterChef. This was fortunate as she had to get straight down to business if she was going to not only finish her ambitious recipe in time but also have it taste good enough for the judges. Pete Goffe-Wood looked concerned when he heard what Samantha was ...
