A few more tips for decorating a cake.
- The cake must cool completely before icing it.
- Use a cake leveller or a serrated knife to cut off the mounded top of a baked cake.
- Use a lot of icing when icing the top of the cake, don’t let your spatula touch the cake or you might get crumbs in the frosting.
- Finally and this is the hard part, once you have finished icing the cake let is rest for 15 minutes and then smooth the icing out using wax paper.
